Contemporary Patio Furniture – Create a Modern Space on your Patio

Gone are the days when there was just one style of patio furniture and if you weren’t into the generic dining set style or white plastic chairs (and who WOULD be into that?), you were out of luck. These days, there is such an assortment of contemporary patio furniture available on the market that you can really find outdoor furniture that suits your style perfectly.

Now patio furniture is a very personal thing. With people working longer hours and traffic jams to cottage country or the beach getting worse by the year, our backyard spaces are really the only refuge we have. They need to be relaxing, serene, and aesthetically pleasing so that we can unwind with a book, or even entertain. Outdoor spaces can actually be thought of as more like outdoor rooms. If you take the time and care that you would decorating one of your indoor spaces, you’ll have a fantastic patio, yard, or deck that will help you refresh in the evenings and over the weekends.

What’s not to love in this amazing conversation set? I adore it. Who knew wicker could look so incredibly modern? And accented with a teak table top! It’s just stunning. And to top it off, it’s a deep seating set, so it’s as comfortable as it is beautiful.

The Sabbia Collection by Alfresco

Those designers over at Alfresco have done it again. This set is so gorgeous and truly modern. Check out the shape of the ottomans! Very interesting. And they store neatly under the coffee table when they’re not in use! Awesome.

The Vento Collection

Ok, I swear I am NOT a spokesperson for Alfresco. But really, check this out. My last two favorites were conversation sets, so I figured I’d better pick a dining set. Again, I love all the pieces in the Vento collection, but my favorite is the High dining set. The bar height makes it a little edgier and makes it truly a frontrunner in the contemporary outdoor furniture category.

Teak Bar Set

Even though teak has been used as outdoor furniture for thousands of years, it still looks incredibly contemporary. Teak is so old, it’s new! This bar set is a great example of contemporary outdoor furniture with its clean and simple lines. Your most modern martini glasses will not look out of place at this bar table!
