Extend the Life of Your Outdoor Space With a Radiant Patio Heater

Fall is on its way and gone is the hot summer weather that barely seemed to be enough this year. Like many people, you may have invested a lot of time and money this summer to update your outdoor space and create a place where you can relax. Now that Fall is here and the leaves are starting to turn, you’re probably feeling a little bit nostalgic about packing up the patio furniture and starting to move it into the garage or basement.

Here’s good news though; you don’t have to put away your favorite furniture just yet. Until there’s snow, a radiant patio heater can keep you using your patio well into the Fall season. If you live in the lower states that don’t really get snow, an outdoor radiant heater can extend your patio season indefinitely! Keep your BBQ out, and don’t put away that gorgeous wicker furniture because your fall/winter patio parties will make you the most popular family on the block!

You’ve probably seen these types of heaters in commercial patio spaces at restaurants and bars during the cooler months. Unlike forced air heaters, a radiant patio heater uses infrared energy to heat people and objects in a patio space without heating the air in between. These types of heaters typically run on natural gas or propane, but there are also some electric models available. They can be mounted on the wall or ceiling for maximum radiant heat coverage and one heater is typically more than adequate for heating a residential patio space. Most outdoor heaters have options for controlling the amount of energy that is being sent out as heat, which makes them relatively cost effective and fuel efficient. Because a radiant patio heater warms objects without warming the air, thermostats are not recommended for controlling the temperature.

You can find an outdoor radiant heater in just about any style; including wall-mounted heaters, lantern style heaters, and even smaller table top heaters. So wipe that frown off your face, pick up a drink and a book, and sit on your patio and think about the months of outdoor enjoyment you have left!
